Community Engagement

Among the advantages of a thoroughly researched engagement plan is that you maximise involvement of your community and raise awareness or buy-in for your project.

Clearly defining the context, scope and purpose are as important as understanding people’s interests, preferences and availability, so you can choose the most appropriate ways to invite them to be involved.

We use IAP2’s (International Association of Public Participation) approach to community engagement and can help you overcome the challenges presented by your next engagement project.

What Our Clients Say

  • "Birgit was a pleasure to work with. She had the skills to understand an unfamiliar topic and put together a plan to ensure we met all the statutory requirements. She was able to be very dynamic which was needed with changing timelines and requirements. The project had many deliverables that required action at the same time and a need for detail - Birgit managed this very capably."

  • "We wanted to involve our patients in developing a fee policy for the introduction of a fee for concession card holders as we knew it would be difficult for some of them but we didn’t know how to go about it.
Birgit brought an independent and critical eye to the task, which added significant value.  Her experience in managing a significant consultation campaign was evident in the highly organised planning and delivery.
The results showed high engagement and our patients had good ideas for the policy, many of which we took on board. At the start of February (when the new fee took effect) patients were aware of the fee and the policy and ten patients requested assistance under the policy."
